Mancherial (Adilabad): RTA officials conducted a special drive here on Thursday and imposed fines on private bus drivers who violated the rules under the Motor Vehicle Act.

They caught the two-wheeler riders who did not possess licence and imposed fine on them. They stopped the private school buses which were carrying more number of students than the available seats and cancelled the licences of the bus drivers. They also imposed fines on drivers of tempos who were carrying passengers in their vehicles. RTC officials also participated in the special drive.

The RTA officials stated that the drive was conducted following the directions of the State government. The RTC officials said measures were being taken to help TSRTC secure profits. They called upon people to travel in RTC buses as they ensure safe and comfortable journey. The officers of the RTA called upon vehicle users to take adequate precautions while driving to avoid accidents. They should carry all the relevant documents of the vehicles with them. Number plates should be provided to the vehicles following the guidelines of RTA.

The special drive was conducted under the supervision of RTA official Badru Nayak and RTC DM Venkat Reddy.
