Bhadrachalam: Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Dr T Rajaiah said development of the government hospitals at Bhadrachalam and Khammam would be taken up at a cost of Rs 30 crore.

Rajaiah who slept overnight at the Area Hospital here, spoke to the media here on Monday. He said a platelet machine would be installed at the Area Hospital.

He pointed out that while cases of dengue were reported in Adilabad district, maximum cases of malaria were reported in Khammam district. He said an action plan was prepared to prevent the spread of diseases.

The Health Minister said the PHCs at different places would be upgraded and modernised.

Earlier, Rajaiah inspected different wards at the hospital here and spoke to the patients to learn about the facilities being provided at the hospital.

MLAs Sunnam Rajaiah, T Venkateswarlu, MLC B Lakshminarayana, ZP Chairperson G Kavitha, ITDA PO D Divya, RDO R Anjaiah, DM&HO Dr Bhanuprakash and Area Hospital Superintendent Dr M V Koti Reddy were present.
