An ‘all-party meeting’ here on Thursday strongly criticised the TRS government’s indifferent attitude towards the plight of sugarcane farmers even when sugar factories in Medak district commenced crushing without announcing the minimum support price.

Zaheerabad: An ‘all-party meeting’ here on Thursday strongly criticised the TRS government’s indifferent attitude towards the plight of sugarcane farmers even when sugar factories in Medak district commenced crushing without announcing the minimum support price. It warned that an agitation would be launched under the leadership of the Left parties if the government failed to secure MSP.
The speakers recalled that the TRS, prior to the general elections, had promised to secure sugarcane MPS for farmers, besides going to their rescue. But, after coming to power, the party leaders were indifferent to the issue. They said a complaint on the sugarcane MSP and crushing would be lodged with the district Collector on Monday.
