Adilabad: B Malla Reddy, In-charge DIG, Karimnagar range, exhorted the police personnel to discharge their duties diligently for controlling crimes. He arrived here on Thursday on a two-day tour of the district.

Mr Malla Reddy received the guard of honour and inspected police parade, squad drill, lathi drill, physical exercise drill, weapons and bomb squads and dog squads. It may be noted that Malla Reddy is Warangal Range DIG.

The DIG conducted some tests to sniffer dogs and expressed satisfaction over the training given to them. He also visited DCRB, fingerprint unit, SIB office, passport office, SP camp office and police store.

Superintendent of police Tarun Joshi accompanied the DIG and explained him the performance of various departments.

The DIG said that Adilabad police earned good reputation by conducting polls in a peaceful environment and in weakening the influence of Maoists.

He commended the police personnel for bringing down crime rate. He exuded confidence that Adilabad police under the guidance of SP Tarun Joshi will effectively tackle crime.

Mr Malla Reddy said that police can gain public confidence by discharging duties in a transparent manner. He told the police to render justice to the litigants. He said that the department should take steps for providing amenities to police personnel.

Police Officers Association leaders Borlakunta Posalingam, representatives Mir Virasath Ali, MA Karim, Penchala Venkateswarlu, SK Tajuddin presented a bouquet to the DIG. They brought the problems of police personnel to the notice of DIG.

SP Tarun Joshi, Bellampally Additional SP Bhaskar Bhushan, Adilabad Additional SP T Panasa Reddy, OSD Challa Praveen Kumar, Utnoor DSP R Venkateswarlu, Kagaznagar DSP Srinivasulu, Bellampally DSP A Ramana Reddy, AR DSP K Praveen Kumar, CIs and others were present.
