Hyderabad: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) VB Kamalasan Reddy on Friday had a session with rowdy-sheeters and counselled them. Around 19 rowdy sheeters attended the counselling session held at Abids police station.

The DCP issued a stern warning of not to resort to any anti-social acts. At the same time, the officer assured them if their behaviour was found to be good, their names would be removed from the sheets.

He also closed the rowdy sheets of some former rowdies who have adapted to good conduct over years and also assured the same for the remaining rowdy-sheeters who are still active in the field. “Those who are above 60 years and those who have chronic diseases, their sheets will be closed,” Reddy added.

Liquor consumption in public places banned

In the wake of reports that consumption of liquor in public places has become a nuisance in several parts of the capital city to common public, especially to women and children, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy issued orders prohibiting consumption of liquor in public places in the city.
