Lake Police get new boat, patrol car
The DCP (Central) VB Kamalasan Reddy on Monday inaugurated a new boat, a new patrol car and five new bicycles for effective patrolling around Necklace Road and in the lake water to curb suicides. So far, the Lake Police rescued 80 persons from committing suicide in the Hussainsagar lake and booked as many as 300 cases against eve-teasing till November
Hyderabad: The DCP (Central) VB Kamalasan Reddy on Monday inaugurated a new boat, a new patrol car and five new bicycles for effective patrolling around Necklace Road and in the lake water to curb suicides. So far, the Lake Police rescued 80 persons from committing suicide in the Hussainsagar lake and booked as many as 300 cases against eve-teasing till November this year alone.
The Lake Police which conducted vehicle checking booked around 350 cases against traffic violations and detained at least six vehicles for rash driving at Necklace Road stretch. The DCP appreciated Lake Police personnel for saving lives of a woman and her kids recently. He appealed to people to approach the police with their problem instead of trying to commit suicide.
