Hyderabad: Telangana government is mulling over to give a major makeover to Secretariat, the headquarters of State administration, in the coming months. Installing digital screens and new signboards are some of the proposals under consideration.

People from 10 districts of the State, besides dignitaries from other States frequently visit Secretariat for some work or other. However, at present there is no proper mechanism to guide them.

Telangana has been allotted A, B, C and D blocks during division of buildings in Secretariat. Any person visiting Secretariat will be confused to locate the chamber of official or minister he wishes to meet. He or she should invariably check with passersby and find out about the name of the block besides floor and room numbers following which he will get an idea. It’s been six months since State has been divided but the signboards erected near blocks have not been updated. They are still displaying information of Ministers and bureaucrats chambers of the previous government.

Against this backdrop, Telangana government has decided to revamp the premises, albeit, with a modern look. A private agency has been tasked with responsibility of giving a report on this. Also the government wants to erect digital screens which will flash information about various flagship schemes of the government.

Meanwhile, government has decided to give corporate look to Ministers chambers. Chief Minister is learnt to have directed officials to prepare ultra-modern conference halls with all latest facilities for the convenience of Ministers during review meetings.
