Warangal: District officials have speeded up their efforts in identifying the suitable land for an integrated industrial hub consisting of a textile park in Warangal district.

District Collector G Kishan along with Joint Collector Pausumi Basu visited ‘Rathiguttalu’ near Devnoor village in Dharmasagar mandal in the district on Wednesday. He inspected government lands spread on hillocks and plains.

They visited the place following the directions issued by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during a review meeting conducted at the Collectorate on Monday. The Chief Minister directed the district officials to identify a compact block to develop an industrial hub.

Collector informed that a stretch of 14016 acres of land was identified and it consists of 317 acres of ceiling surplus land covering hillocks and plains. A report on land availability would be submitted to the state government very soon.

The Department of Industries would conduct a comprehensive ground level survey and submit a detailed project report to the government.

State government has been planning to establish a composite textile industry with one lakh power-looms. Allied industries like dyeing, printing, hosiery and others would also come up as part of the industrial hub.

The industrial hub will consist of apparel park, commercial complexes, schools, hospital and an integrated township with international standards to produce a wide-range of garments such as sarees, bedsheets, and ready-made dresses at one place.

It might be noted that during the Chief Minister’s review meeting, district administration has suggested a list of sites.

They include 500 acres of land at Madipelli, 500 acres at Ananthasagar and Jaigiri, 278 acres at Vangapahad, 312 acres at Panthini, 145 acres at Chinna Pendial village, 6,000 acres of reserve forest land at Jakaram and 3,000 acres at Devnoor for the purpose. The Chief Minister then directed officials to conduct a feasibility study of the lands available at Devnoor and Jakaram.

RDO Venkata Madhava Rao, divisional forest officer Ch Ganga Reddy, industrial infrastructure officer Sumita Bai, Dharmasagar Tahsildar Ravichandra Reddy and others have accompanied the District Collector.
