Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday called on Governor ESL Narasimhan on the occasion of New Year 2015 at Raj Bhavan here. During his 90 minute meeting with the Governor, Rao is learnt to have expressed his opposition to the manner in which the Andhra Pradesh government had announced Eamcet schedule unilaterally and reiterated his stance on conducting separate examination for Telangana.

This stand of Rao assumes importance as the Governor had earlier during the day told media that he had given certain options to both the governments on Eamcet controversy and was waiting for the response from both of them. He is also said to have discussed the issue of bifurcation of AIS officials without further delay. When the Governor suggested against any injustice to students taking Eamcet, Rao is understood to have given his nod but not at the cost of Telangana students. He urged the Governor to direct the AP government to stop creating further problems for Telangana State on water, power and resources.

He also sought the Governor's cooperation for speedy completion of projects by taking up the issues with the Centre, sources said. It is being said that the Chief Minister has urged the Governor to impress upon the Centre to give special status to the State and package for projects. The Chief Minister also urged Narasimhan to extend support to ambitious projects and welfare schemes like Re 1-a-kg rice to poor launched on January 1 across 10 Telangana districts.

According to reliable sources, Rao apprised the Governor of the steps being taken for power production, water grid, lakes restoration, pension scheme and many others. He also informed the Governor about bifurcation of the APSRTC shortly. Rao had called on the Governor along with Deputy Chief Ministers Mahamood Ali and Dr T Rajaiah, said the sources.
