Sircilla (Karimnagar): About 300 elderly persons along with Congress councillors staged a dharna in front of the municipal office here on Wednesday alleging that officials are not enquiring into irregularities committed in Aasara pension scheme.

They demanded the state government to distribute pension ward-wise as it was done in the previous state government rule. Protesting elderly persons said that they have to wait for days together to receive pension amount as officials are distributing it at one place by clubbing three wards. They expressed anguish that they were facing severe difficulties during festival time with the delay in receiving pension amount.

An elderly person, Ramulamma said that names of those who received pensions in the past two months were deleted from pension list.

She informed that officials are telling them that their names were deleted after conducting a survey. Ramulamma pleaded with the officials to include their names in the list and render justice to them.
