Hyderabad: Minister for Commercial Taxes and Cinematography T Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to take all measures to prevent the stink emanating from the cemetery at Bansilalpet in Secunderabad.

He said the government would take steps to address the problem in the area. The Minister patiently listened to the people who poured in their woes related to the stench coming from adjoining cemetery. Instantly, he asked the officials to initiate immediate measures to address the issue.

He observed that due to lack of proper maintenance, the people are being to put to hardships at Gandhinagar, Ramaswamy Compound and Arun Jyothi Colony. He asked the officials to ensure that the people were relieved from the problem which might lead to health hazards. The Minister also promised to address the locals’ needs of water, street lights, power and roads. When women sought security during night hours, the Minister asked the police officials to make regular patrolling and help avoid the problem being faced by women and girls in the area, a press release said.
