Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) deputy leader in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has advised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to shift his base to AP’s new capital area at the earliest. Addressing a press conference on the Assembly premises here on Thursday, Shabbir Ali accused Chandrababu Naidu for interfering in the affairs of Telangana State.

“He obstructed power supply to Telangana farmers during Khariff season causing huge losses which consequently led to suicides by hundreds of farmers. He also tried to deprive Telangana its share of water from Krishna river. Now he is trying to encroach upon Telangana’s right to conduct EAMCET for its students,” he said.

Asking the AP Chief Minister to leave Hyderabad as soon as possible, Shabbir Ali said Naidu should accept the reality that Andhra Pradesh had been bifurcated and now Telangana is an independent State. Therefore, he should not try to sabotage the interest of Telangana. He said Naidu should start operating form the new capital area as it might develop that region. Shabbir Ali said Naidu’s regime has always proved to be a curse for the people of the State.

During his previous rule for nine years, the then undivided Andhra Pradesh witnessed natural calamities and major accidents. At least 1,058 people were killed in a severe cyclone that hit AP coast in 1996. There was a severe drought and famine-like conditions that forced more than 3,000 farmers to commit suicide.
