CPM concern over growing socio-economic inequalities, Widening economic and social inequalities are the root cause of all social maladies, said the CPM politburo member BV Raghavulu.

Khammam: Widening economic and social inequalities are the root cause of all social maladies, said the CPM politburo member BV Raghavulu.

Pointing out the Central and State governments, he asked them not to support the corporate forces and realtor mafia as it would only help increase the social inequalities.

Addressing a huge gathering on the first day of the three-day 19th CPM district meeting in Madhira on Friday, he said that all the bourgeois political parties in the country, including AP and Telangana, have been working for the corporate forces leaving the commoners to their fate.

"The persisting high rate of poverty is no surprise, given ongoing high unemployment and stagnant wages," Raghavulu said. He questiond the State and Central governments what would be the fate of the downtrodden and agriculture labourers if the rulers continue to bat for the corporate forces.

He stated that the BJP which won this election due to Congress' misdeeds is trying to gain strength in the States through its communal agenda.

The belief of the people that industrialization would flourish in the regime of Narendra Modi-led BJP government has vanished like a bubble, he maintained, pointing to the economic dark side in the last seven months.

Taking a dig at Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Chief Ministers, N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrashekar Rao, he said both the leaders made tall promises to come to power and had ignored the hardships of the people.

Stating that CPM was committed to fight for the commoner, he emphasized the need for a concerted effort by the Left parties to exert pressure on the government.

Party's Telangana State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, Bhadrachalam MLA Sunnam Rajaiah, district committee secretary P. Sudarshan Rao and senior leader Nunna Nageswara Rao were among others present at the meeting.

Earlier, the party flag was hoisted and tributes wwre paid to all those Communist leaders and activists who died during the last three years.
