Speaking at Deendayal Nagar, KCR promised to develop the colony within five months by constructing buildings, with ground and first floors, and providing double-bedroom houses to the poor. He told the residents to stay in their native place on Saturday and Sunday. ‘I will summon officials from Hyderabad and neighbouring districts and they will conduct a ground-level survey to identify beneficiaries.’ His visit to houses caused concern among the police about his security. At many places, KCR entered colonies not heeding the advice of officials.
North Zone IG Naveen Chandra, who accompanied the Chief Minister along with SP AK Jha, IG (security) Mahesh Bhagawath, suffered bruises after a fall while moving in slums. In the evening, KCR attended a programme to welcome YSRCP MLA Thati Venkateswarlu from Aswaraopet (Khammam) into TRS. He said he would soon visit Khammam district, which has rich mineral wealth.
Steps for its all-round development would be taken. Proposals for constructing an airport at Kothagudem and 1,080 MW power project at Manuguru were on the anvil, KCR said, while promising to complete all pending projects in the district. He urged political parties to join hands with the government for the State’s development.
