State YSR Congress Party president and Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Saturday said that the defections of some party men from the YSR Congress Party would in no way weaken it. Speaking to the media at the YSRCP office here on Saturday, he said that they were taking steps to strengthen the party in Telangana State.

The Khammam MP demanded the TRS government to fulfil all the promises that it made during the time of elections. He lamented that Chief Minister K Chandrashekara Rao, instead of sanctioning more pensions, cancelled the existing ones, putting the elderly to hardships. Where is the golden Telangana which KCR promised at the time of elections, he asked. He said the YSRCP activists would launch an agitation to pressurize the state government to fulfil the promises that it made.
