Officials advised to focus on solar energy
Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Sunday stressed the importance of drawing up a strategy to popularise the use of solar energy. After inaugurating solar lighting system installed in 14 municipal parks here at a cost of Rs 20.12 lakh, he laid emphasis on promoting solar energy.

He enquired with Collector Dr K. Ilambarithi about the progress of solar lighting installation works in ITDA Ashram Schools, KGBVs and PHCs with an outlay of Rs 4.5 crore. The Minister directed officials to prepare proposals for the installation of solar lighting in the Khammam fort. He asked municipal officials to expedite the de-silting of Gollapadu channel and to complete verification of Aasara applications. Balasani Lakshminarayana, MLC, and ZP Chairperson Kavitha were present.
