CPM Meet To Discuss Roadmap

The Telangana unit of the Communist Party of India Marxist (CPM) is set for modernising the party and making it tech-savvy. It will also work in the direction of speeding up the process of unity of the two left parties.As a first step in that direction, the party will be holding a Mahasabha in Hyderabad.

According to state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, the party for the first time will press the entire cadre into action.

The party has asked the cadres from all the 10 districts to descend in Hyderabad. They will stay put here for over 20 days and will be deployed in all the Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district. They will go from door to door explaining the party policies and programmes and the role it would be playing in the new State.

The party will also hold its central committee meeting from January 19-21 in Hi-Tec city, where the leaders will interact with the rank and file and analyse the impact of UPA and NDA alliances on the development of the country. It will also discuss the reasons for poor performance of the party in the elections and will try to identify the reasons for the party losing its sheen over a period of time.

Though the party is in power in three States, it had not helped the CPM to grow as a major force. On the other hand, it was becoming weak. Hence, the party feels that there was need to discuss and debate as to whether there were any organisational failures or if it was failure of some individuals. The party will also discuss on the new strategies it needs to adopt to suit the requirements of the present day politics
