Hyderabad: The latest efforts of the TRS to rope in four TDP MLAs, three from Hyderabad and one from Khammam, seems to have made some headway. The weekly meeting of the TDLP convened here on Saturday primarily with a single point agenda to discuss the attempts of the TRS to decimate the yellow party in the city in view of the GHMC elections which would soon be held was in for a shock as four MLAs, G Sayanna, S Venkata Veeraiah, M Krishna Rao and Mechineni Kishen Reddy, failed to turn up at the meeting.

This led to the speculations that the claim made by TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday was confirmed and that all of them were sure to join the TRS. However, city MLA Sayanna refutes this. Talking to The Hans India, Sayanna categorically stated that there was no question of his quitting the TDP. He was highly critical of the role played by TRS ministers in the Secunderabad Cantonment Board elections.

He said some of them like Teegala Krishna Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav had gone because of certain benefits they were promised and are now settled. There is no point in quitting the TDP and joining the TRS as it would be of no use for any of the four whose names are making rounds, he said.
