Mahabubnagar: Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday assured the slum-dwellers here that the government would provide housing, drinking water and toilets in next four months.

The Chief Minister assured them that he would come back to the town after eight days to lay foundation stone for a housing project and toilets.

He said his government would construct houses for the people on their own sites and live up to their expectations. People gave him round of applause. KCR promised to create more employment opportunities for youth.

Stressing the need for creating awareness among the people to mitigate poverty, he called upon them to fight in unity to solve their problems.

“Unless you a wage a fight problems will not be solved,” he observed. Interacting with the people, he sought to know their problems and assured them of speedy redress.

Promising to get the Srisailam waters to cater to the drinking water needs of Mahababunagar town, KCR directed officials to set up an RO plant.

He asked them to construct houses for the poor and needy in three to four months.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the lack basic facility of toilets for the town residents. He said the government will soon address this problem. He asked youth to focus attention on self-employment rather than depending on government jobs.
