Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao said that the State government was committed to ensure road connectivity to all the villages besides improving the State highways.

Speaking to media persons at Kusumanchi mandal headquarters, 25 km from Khammam, on Monday, the Minister said that the long-felt need for widening the Khammam-Suryapet stretch of the State highway would soon be fulfilled.

"The road connectivity plays a pivotal role to propel industrial growth and drive the economy," Rao said, further assuring that all the villages in the district would get road connectivity.

He said that the government had sanctioned Rs 4.5 crore to give a facelift to roads in Palair Assembly constituency. He said that the government was also committed to supply protected drinking water to all households in the state.

Besides, ensuring supply of irrigation water to Kusumanchi and Tirumalayapalem mandals from Nagarjunasagar Left Canal, the plans were afoot to bring Godavari water through Kanthalapalli lift irrigation scheme, the Minister said.

Earlier, the Minister, who offered prayers at the Ganapeswara Temple, laid foundation stone for the construction of additional classrooms at the ZPHS in Kusumanchi.

Zilla Parishad chairperson G Kavitha, MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, DEO K Ravindranath Reddy and RVM project officer Srinivas were among others present.
