Khammam: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Tuesday asked officials to submit a detailed report reflecting the government's plans to solve the people’s problems in all municipalities of the district, including Khammam Corporation.

The Minister, who made a random inspection of Ramanagutta and several other colonies here for on-the-spot assessment of basic amenities, said the government was committed to develop all slums. Non-supply of drinking water and absence of internal roads were prominent among other issues brought to his notice when he interacted with local residents.

Stating that Chief Minister KCR was likely to visit the district in the last week or early in February, Tummala asked officials to focus on issues facing the people as KCR in all probability would visit areas where amenities were missing. “The poor living in and around Ramanagutta will be provided with pucca houses,” he said, while giving a patient hearing to complaints of local residents, who mostly sought houses and pensions.

The Minister inspected the Rythu Bazaar near Yellandu crossroads and interacted with farmers. After visiting Lakkaram tank, he directed municipal officials to initiate works for beautifying the city. MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, DCCB chairman Muvva Vijaya Babu and in-charge municipal commissioner Venu Manohar accompanied Tummala.
