Addressing at a road show here on the first day of Paramarsha Yatra in the district, Sharmila said, ”YSR always strove for the uplift of the weaker sections and ushered in a string of welfare schemes without imposing new taxes or increasing power tariff and thus won the hearts of people.

Resuming the Paramarsha Yatra, which was left unfinished by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sharmila said, “ It was YSR who implemented the Employment Guarantee scheme in the right spirit, his loan waiver, free power for seven hours and ensuring minimum support price (MSP) benefitted the farmers.”

The fees reimbursement scheme made education, more so professional courses, accessible to weaker sections. The beneficiaries are now reaping the benefits and were in high positions. He breathed new life into the health sector by making quality treatment available to the poorer sections through Aarogyasri and the ambulance services had saved many lives. He built 43 lakhs houses in the State which was just a shade less than the total number of houses built across the country. Sharmila was given rousing reception in the district
