The Regiional Passport Officer (RPO), Hyderabad has accepted proposals of the Telangana State Haj Committee (SHC) for providing relief to the Haj applicants in the matter of their passports.

SHC officer Prof S A Shukoor met RPO Ashwini Sattaru on Wednesday and discussed the mandatory conditions of the Haj Committee of India and Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as regards to the Haj application forms.

He said the ministry has laid out a condition that the hand written passports issued earlier would not accepted for Haj visa endorsement and all the Haj pilgrims should possess the machine readable passports. The RPO readily agreed to replace the existing passports with the machine readable passports.

On the proposal of issuing passports to the candidates whose police inquiry reports were received, she said the passports to such candidates would be issued immediately, subject to the submission of list of the applicants by the SHC.
Prof Shukoor further proposed to renew the passports to such candidates whose passports were going to expire before March 20, 2016, as the selected Haj pilgrims should have to possess the passports with validity till March 20, 2016. Accordingly, it was agreed to renew the passports as per norms.
In all the three cases, the candidates should approach the SHC office in person and only basing on their representation the SHC would send the list of the candidates to the RPO. Middlemen will not be entertained.
The intending Haj pilgrims who desire to avail of the facility can contact in person to the Haj Committee office or contact 040- 2329 8793 for details. Deputy Regional Passport Officer Madan Mohan and SHC AEO Irfan Shareef were also present on this occasion.
