Verification of passport in 3 days
The Cyberabad police on Monday launched the expeditious Passport Verification System through use of Tablet PCs. It will reduce the police field verifications from 13 to three days. Ashwini Sattaru, Regional Passport Officer, Shivdhar Reddy, IG Intelligence and C V Anand, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad launched this programme.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Monday launched the expeditious Passport Verification System through use of Tablet PCs. It will reduce the police field verifications from 13 to three days. Ashwini Sattaru, Regional Passport Officer, Shivdhar Reddy, IG Intelligence and C V Anand, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad launched this programme.
Speaking on the occasion, C V Anand said this was the first time in the country that such a system was being launched, which reduces the verification mechanism. He explained that the process enables the field SB (Special Branch) officers to receive the application forms directly, via internet.

“These can be verified and directly uploaded to the Commissioner’s office without having to wait for their Friday weekly meetings, where hard copies are submitted,” said the commissioner. 70 Samsung tabs were bought at the cost of Rs 16 lakh through tender process. Ashwini Sattaru said the Ministry of External Affairs has set a target to issue 1.25 crore passports, which was possible only by using this kind of modern technology.
