KCR sets sights on big win in 2019 elections

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has set a target of winning 130-140 seats in the 2019 elections and called upon the partymen to work in that direction with dedication and not to worry about nominated posts. Addressing the extended meeting of the state executive of the party at Kompally in Ranga Reddy district on Tuesday, KCR said the party would recognize the services of all leaders but due to certain reasons like balancing caste equations it may not be possible to accommodate them in some posts. That should not worry them.

Claiming that no Opposition party can stop the TRS juggernaut in 2019, he asked them to work unitedly and in the course of journey he will ensure that the party leaders and workers get rewarded appropriately. KCR has said the TRS is a party that is born out of agitation for separate state and there are many issues that need to be addressed as the state had suffered at the hands of the previous rulers.

The focus of the party and government is to rectify all the anomalies and see that ‘Bangaru Telangana’ was created. He said the rank and file of the party should cooperate with him in the process. The Chief Minister said that after delimitation, Telangana will have about 154 Assembly seats. He said the Chief Election Commissioner HS Brahma had assured him of taking up delimitation exercise at the earliest.

With 30 to 40 new Assembly constituencies to be created after delimitation, majority of the aspirants would be accommodated in various posts. ”It is just a matter of time,” he added. Brushing aside the criticism by the Opposition parties and critics for their continued attacks against the ruling party over shifting of the Secretariat and the efforts he had made to gather information regarding government buildings and lands in the state capital, KCR said the previous governments lacked vision on development and took ‘routine’ decisions.

Despite tall claims by few politicians that they have built the city or made it hi-tech, the hard reality is transformation of Hyderabad into a bundle of woes over the years. He said once his plans are implemented Hyderabad will become a city like Dallas in the US.

KCR said he was determined to raze government buildings in Panjagutta, Malakpet, Erramanzil, etc. to build amenities for city residents like vegetable and meat markets, bus-shelters, dhobi ghats among others. The Chief Minister said the Opposition parties were becoming restless and desperate with the people-friendly schemes and policy decisions of the TRS government. They realized that there is no future for them and hence are making allegations that are out of context, he said.
