TDP leader seeks support price for cotton, The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) district president and former legislator Ch Vijayaramana Rao visited the agriculture market yard in Peddapalli on Wednesday.
Karimnagar: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) district president and former legislator Ch Vijayaramana Rao visited the agriculture market yard in Peddapalli on Wednesday. He has interacted with farmers and asked them whether they were getting support price for cotton. Farmers informed the TDP leader that the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) officials were denying support price by saying moisture content was higher than permissible-level in cotton.
He also spoke to the CCI officials as to why farmers were denied support price. Expressing anger over the CCI officials, the farmers alleged that officials were cheating on pretext of moisture content. Speaking to press persons, Vijayaramana Rao came down heavily on the negligent attitude of Finance Minister Eatala Rajender and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao towards farmers. He alleged that the State government was least bothered to render justice for farmers even though they were staging protests.
