Nalgonda: Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday alleged that the Congress and TDP leaders were making unsavoury comments against the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) as they were unable to digest the growing public support to him.

Laying foundation stone for new road works worth Rs 42 crores in Nakrekal Assembly Constituency, Taraka Rama Rao said that the TRS government has taken up several welfare schemes besides implementing the promises made in the elections manifesto for the benefit of the people. The Chief Minister is working with commitment to transform the state into Golden Telangana (Bangaru Telangana).

He flayed the Congress leaders for threatening to file cases against the Chief Minister in the High Court and topple his government. The Congress leaders, who kept silence and enacted resignation dramas during Telangana agitation, are now indulging in mud-slinging against KCR, who led the agitation, he charged.

Referring to the comment of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu that ruling AP from Hyderabad was like ruling from a foreign country, the Minister suggested him to change his party name as Prakka Desam Party (PDP) in Telangana State.

Reiterating that the Chief Minister is giving top priority for development of Nalgonda district, he felt that Nalgonda would emerge as main power producer in the State with setting up of 7,600 MW thermal power plant at Damaracherla. Stating that the Chief Minister would also launch water grid scheme from the district, he exuded confidence that the scheme, under which water connections to be given to every house, would solve fluoride issue, which has affected lakhs of people in the district. Nakkalagandi Lift Irrigation project, which was accorded administrative sanction by the government, would also help in mitigating fluoride problem in the district, he felt.

Responding to the request made by Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham, the Minister announced that drainage works would be take up throughout Nakrekal.

Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy, Bhongir MP B Narsaiah Goud, Parliamentary Secretary (Health) Gadari Kishore, ZP Chairman Balu Naik and the TRS leaders were present on the occasion.
