Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrashekar Rao has tasked city ministers with responsibility of strengthening party base in Greater Hyderabad. Accordingly five ministers, T Padma Rao Goud, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mahmood Ali, Naini Narasimha Reddy and Mahender Reddy were assigned constituencies and told to oversee the membership drive.

Meanwhile, adhoc-committee led by former MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao and comprising 25 members would assist ministers in this task.A big public meeting was arranged at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday where leaders gave a clarion call to party functionaries to devote their full time to enrol new members.

Although Chandrashekar Rao was scheduled to address the meeting, he could not make it due to official engagements in Secretariat.TRS sources informed that an amount of Rs 50 would be charged for enrolment into active member category and Rs 10 for general member category. However, SC and STs would be charged only Rs 25 for enrolment into active member category.

Vijaya Reddy breaks down Meanwhile, Vijaya Reddy, daughter of late P Janardhan Reddy, broke down at Telangana Bhavan after coming to know that she was not given representation in party adhoc-committees. She argued her case with Minister Naini who expressed his helplessness and asked her to meet Chandrashekar Rao.
