The hyderabad Police Commissionerate on Friday announced the launching of Wi-Fi at all police stations and units under its jurisdiction. “The entire work area of Hyderabad police and all police stations have now been equipped with Wi-Fi routers connected through high speed internet connectivity that enables a virtual single office,” Hyderabad police commissioner M Mahender Reddy said.

Similarly, all offices of Central Armed Reserve, Central Security Wing, Special Branch, Task Force besides offices of Assistant Commissioners of Police and Deputy Commissioners of Police have also been brought under Wi-Fi, he said. "The objective of providing Wi-Fi in work areas is to improve collaboration between staff within and across the department by accessing internet simultaneously thereby leading to better decision-making, helping them meet their deadlines, sharing of data, access to department business applications and systems remotely and improving communication,” Reddy said.
