Paan to fight swine flu

Mahbubnagar: An anti-dote to the dreaded swine flu disease, which is creating fear across the country, has been found in the town and it is the special Paan, comprising ingredients like Elachi, Pudina, nut powder, mulati, kalonji, jajikaya, Zinda Tilismat and other anti-flu ingredients wrapped up with betel leaves. Cases of swine flu are on the rise in the district. The H1N1 virus is highly contagious and spreads fast. Even doctors are not spared as several of them were affected in the main hospital at the district headquarters.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, the owner of the Panchawati Paan Shop in the town, Amjad Khan, said that he had found the correct medicine to swine flu in the form of a special paan, which he sells for Rs 5 although the original cost was Rs 10. He has become very popular in the town as he is receiving a steady stream of customers for the paan to fight swine flu. The Paan is prepared immediately on demand.

However, he is not indulging in marketing overdrive to popularize the paan by using pamphlets or setting up boards. It remains to be seen how far the paan becomes successful but the people are relishing the taste of this special paan, which they chew immediately after meals.
