Advocates boycott courts
The lawyers in Karimnagar district boycotted all the court proceedings on Monday demanding a separate High Court for the newly formed state of Telangana. They have resolved to continue their protest for the next two days. Karimnagar district BAR association President Gopu Madhusudhana Chary said
Karimnagar: The lawyers in Karimnagar district boycotted all the court proceedings on Monday demanding a separate High Court for the newly formed state of Telangana. They have resolved to continue their protest for the next two days. Karimnagar district BAR association President Gopu Madhusudhana Chary said, "Several petitions had been submitted to the Centre and the Chief Justice of India over the bifurcation of High Court and the Centre was requested to stop the appointments till separation.
But ignoring the appeals made by us, recently a notification has been issued for the appointment of Junior Civil Judges. So, we are boycotting all the court proceedings demanding separate High Court for Telangana from Monday." He also said, "The lawyers were protesting for the last 7 days regarding the appointments. They are worried when the notification for Junior Civil Judges has been issued. To stop the appointments we are filing a petition in Supreme Court." The court proceedings were affected due to the lawyers protest in the district.
