Adilabad: People of Erragunta, Chintaguda, Dharmajipeta and Kalamadugu villages under the limits of Kadam and Jannaram mandals in the district are facing severe shortage of drinking water.

These villages have water tanks. But motor pump sets were not functioning to fill water into the tanks. The problem has been compounded with non-availability of mechanics to repair motor pump sets. The villagers appealed to the Chief Minister to construct a water purification plant at Kadam project so that drinking water can be supplied to the surrounding villages of five mandals.

They found fault with the members of village panchayats for not utilising funds to repair motor pump sets. They requested the government to take up repair works to the motor pump sets so that water can be filled in the tanks.
