Mahabubnagar: The TRS and Congress workers clashed at Thatipamula in Pebbair mandal on Tuesday. Immediately, the police swung into action and dispersed them.

The dispute arose soon after the Congress activists demolished foundation stone which was erected for laying black-top road in Thatipamula village.

Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, Vice-Chairman of the Telangana State Planning Commission, was supposed to perform Bhoomi Puja for the foundation stone. Before he could arrive, the Congressmen destroyed the stone. At this juncture, activists of both warring parties had heated arguments and attacked each other.

Earlier, Niranjan Reddy inaugurated the bridge at Gummadam village. While he was addressing the gathering, the Congress leaders heckled him. They questioned him as to how he would open the bridge without inviting Wanaparthi MLA G Chinna Reddy for the inauguration programme. Niranjan Reddy and police officials pacified the angry Congress leaders and sent them away.
