Hyderabad: All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday alleged that some senior leaders, who acquired top positions, were trying to damage the Telangana Congress.

Addressing a press conference on the Assembly premises, Ponguleti alleged that there were some ‘moles’ in the Telangana Congress who were working against the party’s interest as they had a ‘match-fixing’ agreement with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). The AICC, in its next meeting, would review such activities and take steps to weed out these elements, he said. Referring to the results of Delhi Assembly elections, Ponguleti advised TRS chief KCR to learn lessons from the poll outcome. Display of any sort of arrogance would result in the same fate as that of the BJP, he cautioned. He said people in Delhi voted in large numbers to teach BJP a fitting lesson for its ‘arrogance’. He said Aam Aadmi Party’s historic victory has applied brakes to the ‘autocratic’ politics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana State Chief Minister KCR.

Ponguleti also condemned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s Warangal tour and described it as meaningless.
