Hyderabad: Greetings poured in from all quarters for Telagnana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who celebrated his 61st birthday on Tuesday in Mumbai, in the presence of Maharastra Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao. The CM cut the cake at Raj Bhavan after visiting the famous Siddhivinayak Temple.

Prime minister Narendra Modi, AP and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan and AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu also called KCR on phone and greeted him in the morning. KCR was in Mumbai as part of his official meeting with Maharastra CM Devendra Fadnavis on water sharing and pending irrigation projects between two states.

Telangana ministers T Harish Rao, Jogu Ramnna, Parliamentary Secretary J Venkat Rao, MPs- K Keshav Rao, Jitendar Reddy and B Vinod Kumar and State Advisor ( Irrigation) K Vidhyasagar Rao were part of the delegation. Marking the first birthday celebrations of KCR as first CM of the T state, KCR’s daughter and MP K Kavitha, accompanied by Deputy CM Mahmood Ali and Power minister G Jagadish Reddy cut the cake and inaugurated blood donation camp at TRS head office at Telangana Bhavan.

The celebrations were marked with cutting of cakes, bursting of crackers and organising blood camps by the TRS cadre in the city and also in the districts. Speaking on the occasion, Kavitha said the formation of Telangana State was the result of KCR’s relentless struggle for separate state for 13 years. She campared KCR with Mahatma Gandhi, saying while Gandhi freed India form British Colonial Rule, KCR liberated Telangana from Seemandhra rulers.

Terming her father a “star batsman” and that he would not bogged down by small bowlers, Kavitha said that though her father was not in the habit of celebrating birthdays, party workers were always eager to celebrate the day every year. “He never celebrated his birthday. During my childhood, I used to give him chocolates and remind him of his birthday.

KCR’s birthday is special for family members, party activists and followers, but not for him,” she added. She also unveiled audio and video CDs, produced by Telangana film Director A Shankar, show-casing the achievements of KCR.
