Godavari Pushkarams: TRS, BJP Vie For Securing Central Funds. After Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to liberally release funds for Godavari pushkaras, it was now the turn of BJP’s national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao to follow it up. He asked the Centre to grant maximum financial assistance for the festival and also to see that the pushakaras are celebrated on a grand scale.

New Delhi: After Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to liberally release funds for Godavari pushkaras, it was now the turn of BJP’s national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao to follow it up. He asked the Centre to grant maximum financial assistance for the festival and also to see that the pushakaras are celebrated on a grand scale.

KCR had already asked the Prime Minister Modi to grant Rs 750 crores for Godavari Pushkarlu scheduled to take place in July this year on the banks of Godvari across five districts in the State. The pushkaras take place once in 12 years and the State government is determined to make it a success by celebrating it on the lines of kumbh mela.

Muralidhar Rao said he had met the Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti and Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma and discussed about the Godavari pushkaras.

BJP and TRS are vying with each other in lobbying for Central funds for pushkaras.
