Hyderabad: Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee on Tuesday demanded the Telangana government to stop issuing any notification to fill the vacancies in the Judiciary department till the AP Bar Association and High Court were bifurcated. Participating in the relay hunger strike by Ranga Reddy District Bar Association and Advocates JAC here, senior advocate K Laxman Kumar said he quit the member of AP Bar Association as a mark of protest for not scrapping the Bar Council constituted in the united State and create a separate bar council for Telangana State.

He wondered why the Centre was showing indifference towards creating Telangana Bar Council and also separate High Court for T State. Calling all advocates to continue their stir, which entered 16th day, until their demands were met, he said as per the AP Reorganisation Act, the judicial bodies should have divided immediately after the bifurcation of the State.

He pointed out that the AP Advocates JAC was not against the division of judicial bodies and it also submitted a memorandum to the Centre recently. Thanking the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for allocating Rs 100 crore for the welfare of advocates, Laxman said the united fight for the rights of the advocates would only yield positive results. Bar Association President K Raji Reddy, Telangana JAC Chairman Rajendar Reddy and Co–convenor P Govardhan Reddy were also present.
