MOVE TO ATTRACT INVESTORS IN IT SECTOR

Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana conducted an investment promotion roadshow in Bengaluru on Wednesday. "The focus of the Information and Networking session has been to interact with ICT and Electronics manufacturing companies based in Bangalore and invite them to setup their operations in Hyderabad.This is in line with the Government of Telangana’s vision to make Telangana the most preferred Technology Investment destination in the country," said IT Secretary Harpreet Singh.

Information Technology Minister K Tarakarama Rao addressed a large gathering of leaders from IT, ITES and electronics companies based in Bengaluru and invited them to set up /expand their operations in Hyderabad. Also present at the event were Harpreet Singh, Neel Raheja, Chairman, K.Raheja Corp developers of Mindspace, Sandeep Patnaik, MD Jones Lang Lasallesle and Ram Chandani, CBRE.

KTR mentioned that the Government of Telangana aspires to reach a target of Rs 1 lakh crores of national exports from the current level of Rs 60,000 crores and create one million job opportunities in the ICT and electronics sector in the next three years. The ICT exports from Hyderabad has exceeded Rs 60,000 crores and the sector currently employees over 3.25 lakh IT professionals making Hyderabad the second largest IT exporter in India.

Hyderabad has one of the largest concentrations of IT, ITES and electronics companies. The electronic sector has surpassed exports of US$ 1 billon. Hyderabad has one of the largest concentrations of IT, ITES & Electronics Companies in the country, he said. Speaking at the press conference, KTR said, “Hyderabad has rightly emerged as a contender to become the ICT capital of India. With the presence of a large-pool of talented IT professionals and as the base for leading MNCs, the city of Hyderabad has got the reputation of being the destination of choice for businesses across industries.
