Nizamabad: The people of the district are highly disappointed that the visit of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday was cancelled for the second time at the last minute due to the heavy rains that lashed the district. He was supposed to visit the idol installation and consecration ceremony at the temple of Lord Venkateshwara on a hillock on the outskirts of Thimmapur in Beerkur mandal in the district on Sunday and take part in religious programmes.

But, the officials of the ATC, Intelligence and Security Wings advised him against undertaking the journey on helicopter due to the inclement weather.

Disappointment was writ large on the TRS workers who were unable to reconcile to the cancellation of KCR’s visit for the second time in row. Earlier, the Chief Minister’s visit to Kamareddy on January 22 was also cancelled owing to the outbreak of swine flu though elaborate arrangements had been made at that time.

During that visit, he was supposed to interact with the hut-dwellers and assure them that pucca houses would be constructed for them. He was also supposed to interact with the officials and prepare a roadmap for the development of the district. But his visit did not fructify.
