Hyderabad: The two-judge PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sen Gupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar on Monday voiced its disapproval at the manner in which the officials of the central government were reacting to a writ plea on the issue of illegal censorship of two local vernacular television channels.

The bench is dealing with a writ plea filed by Vadadi Murali questioning the inaction of the central government against Siti Vision Digital Media Pvt.

Ltd., Hathway Cable & Datacom Limited, Digicable Network India Pvt. Ltd, and Telangana Multiple System Operators for discontinuing the telecast of TV 9 and ABN Andhra Jyoti . The channels were discontinued for their coverage of TRS functionaries in poor light.

The bench said that the officials in the central government after repeated opportunities have chosen a non-cooperative approach and that the court would proceed to deal with the matter without reference to the Union government if no counter is filed by them by the next hearing.
