Yadagirigutta Name Change: TYS threatens stir
The decision to rechristen the holy Yadagirigutta as “Yadadri” by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is another “perverted” step, Telangana Yuva Shakti has said. In a press release here on Friday, TYS president B Ram Mohan Reddy stated Yadagirigutta temple was the land mark of Telangana people of 10 districts.

Hyderabad: The decision to rechristen the holy Yadagirigutta as “Yadadri” by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is another “perverted” step, Telangana Yuva Shakti has said. In a press release here on Friday, TYS president B Ram Mohan Reddy stated Yadagirigutta temple was the land mark of Telangana people of 10 districts. Not only in Telangana, the temple is famous in other parts of the country, he stated.
Stating that Yadagirigutta is a pure Telugu word/phrase and known since times immemorial, the TYS leader said either the Chief Minister or the pontiff China Jeeyar Swamy have no locus standi to meddle with the name of the famous hill shrine of Telangana. “The KCR government should withdraw the decision to call Yadagirigutta as Yadadri immediately, otherwise Telangana Yuva Shakti will launch agitation on the issue by mass contact program and padayatras,” he warned.
