Jaipur power project to go on stream by year-end

Hyderabad: Both the units of 600 MW each of Jaipur power project in Srirampur area in Adilabad district are likely to be commissioned by this yearend. Replying to a question raised by MLC B Venkata Rao in Legislative Council during Question Hour here on Monday, Health Minister C Laxma Reddy said the Unit-I of 600 MW power plant was likely to be synchronised by November 2015 and the Unit-II (600 MW) by December this year. He said that the employment potential was likely to be of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) as per the Detailed Project Report (DPR) if operation and maintenance were carried out by the company. He said the recruitment in SCCL followed the spirit of Presidential Order and rule of reservation was applicable. Reacting to the Minister's reply, Venkat Rao appealed to the government to reserve all unskilled jobs for local residents and also to give them preference in semi-skilled and high-skilled jobs.
