MIM Leader says Centre biased towards AP MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said that the Finance Commission in allocating of financial resources favoured Andhra Pradesh at the expense of Telangana State.
On Tuesday, MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said that the Finance Commission in allocating of financial resources favoured Andhra Pradesh at the expense of Telangana State. AP which is considered as a revenue deficit states is among the 11 states that the 14th Finance Commission recommended for additional grants-in-aid.
Mr Owaisi stated that while Telangana State’s share in grants and taxes was reduced, AP’s was hiked from the Centre.
Mr Owaisi cited the 14th FC recommended AP for allocation of additional grants-in-aid of Rs 22,113 crore given that it was a revenue deficit state. Also, the devolution of taxes would be 4.40 percent for AP while TS has got the cut to 2.48 per cent from 2.91 per cent. He estimated that over the next five years, approximately Rs 1.5 lakh crore would be received by AP from the Centre.
