Bid to rob two banks

Sangareddy (Medak): Robbers tried to strike at Corporation Bank and Grameena Vikas Bank at Pothireddypalli Crossroads here on Wednesday night. The first robbery bid took place in the Corporation Bank when the offenders tried to enter the promises by digging a hole on the building’s rear side. Later, they gained entry into the adjacent Grameena Vikas Bank by breaking open the rear door. The robbers attempted to open the lockers. Their bid was foiled by alert constables who informed their superiors. However, the offenders managed to escape from the bank before the police could reach the spot. The police said they were trying to identify the robbers using the CCTV footage.
