Telangana ZP Chairman to get Rs 1 lakh salary per month: KCR
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has advocated an increase in salaries of Zilla Parishad chair persons, ZPTC members, MPTC members , Mayors, and even Councilors with a hefty take home pay packet. This move is an attempt to make them service oriented and keep them away from corruption. The hikes will be effective from the financial year April, 2015.
Henceforth, a ZP chairman will have a salary of Rs. One lakh instead of just Rs.7500 as of now. So will be the mayor of local bodies at Rs.50,000.
The Telengana government has increased the salaries and perks of not only MLAs and MPs, but also those in lower rung of elected representatives in rural administration.
While ZPTC members get Rs.10,000, the MPTC members will get Rs 5000.
Similarly, the Deputy mayor will get Rs. 25,000 (against Rs.8000 now ) Corporators will get Rs 6000 (against Rs. 4000).
