Hyderabad: A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Friday directed that the present AP Administrative Tribunal would continue to adjudicate the service matters of the twin States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice P V Sanjay Kumar was dealing with writ petitions filed by B Lakshmiah, Superintending Engineer and R Sriramulu, another officer from the Roads and Building Department.

They complained that the present APAT had lost its jurisdiction after the bifurcation of the State. The Central Government in its affidavit had informed the court that the present APAT would continue to adjudicate the service matters for a period of two days starting June 2, 2014. The bench made it clear that it was not declaring any decision on the contentions raised by the petitioners regarding their service matters and directed that the issue be adjudicated by APAT.
