Dubs TRS-MIM alliance opportunistic

Nalgonda: Congress MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy on Friday alleged that the Ministers and ruing party MLAs and MLCs had been indiscriminately violating the model code of conduct in the campaign for TRS candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy in Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam Graduates constituency.

Addressing a media conference here, Sukhender Reddy said the Ministers were taking advantage of power to further the interest of TRS MLC candidate. In violation of election code, huge hoardings were erected and mass meetings were being organised to influence voters.

When the TRS was not in power, its candidate Kapilavai Dilip Kumar had won twice to the Legislative Council from the same constituency without bombastic publicity. He wondered as to why the TRS was making so much hullabaloo this time. He charged the TRS MLC candidate with luring the graduate voters by promising mobile phones and I-Pads.

He urged Nalgonda District Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy to take measures to check violation of model code of conduct by the ruling party leaders, including the Ministers.

He termed the TRS alliance with the MIM as opportunistic and criticised its support to amendments to the Land Acquisition Act though it had devastating effect on the interests of farmers.

The Telangana State budget was a jugglery of figures, he said. Projects like Pellipaka project and Udaya Samudram (Panagal Reservoir) and others required about Rs 2,000 crore but KCR government had earmarked only Rs 600 crore for irrigation sector in the district, he pointed out.
