Hyderabad: The Centre is planning to set up a dry port and logistic hub in Telangana State, Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman said here on Saturday.

Talking to media persons she said the Centre was involved in an exercise on dry port and logistic hub demands of Telangana. “Efforts are being made to give a green signal to set up these projects in Telangana,” she said.

She also said the Narendra Modi government was not doing injustice to any State nor was it going back on the promises made. She also said the Centre was working on release of more funds to Andhra Pradesh for its development.

Claiming that the Centre was not discriminating between States, the Union Minister said the Centre would honour the AP State Reorganisation Act 2014 and there need not be any doubt on that count.

The Union Minister was here to campaign for party candidate Errabelli Rammohan Rao for the Graduates Constituency election in Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda on Sunday. “I came here as a party worker and will campaign for MLC election,” she said.

Replying to a question, she expressed displeasure over JD(U) president Sharad Yadav's comments on south Indian women. “A senior leader like Sharad Yadav should not have passed such remarks. I was not in the House at that time or else I would have objected to his comments,” she added.
