Speaking at a meeting organised here as part of campaign for BJP’s Council nominee for Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Graduates constituency Errabelli Ram Mohan Rao, he held the UPA government responsible for all discord between the two Telugu-speaking States.

“Congress’ short-sightedness during the bifurcation gave way for many a problem. However, these can be sorted out through a dialogue,” Naidu said, promising that the Centre was committed for the development of both the States.

He said the Union government believed in achieving all-round development by giving thrust to both agriculture and industrial sectors. He said that the Centre had sanctioned funds for developing a highway between Vijayawada and Chhattisgarh and the work would start soon.

Stating that the government was open to considering amendments to the Land Acquisition Act proposed by the Opposition parties, Naidu said all the controversy over the Act was uncalled for. Former MP Nama Nageswara Rao, BJP district president K Sridhar Reddy, legislators Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and Potla Nageswara Rao were among others present at the meeting.
