Approximately 4,500 tonnes of garbage and organic waste could be collected in Hyderabad from which 108 MW of power could be produced at the rate of 36 MW for every 1,500 tonnes, they said. From the same garbage and organic waste, bio-diesel and bio-gas could also be produced, which could be made use in the garbage collection vehicles. This would also ensure that cleaning of the city was done in a systematic manner.

Bio-diesel and bio-gas would ensure decrease in the pollution levels. The delegation told the Chief Minister that Asian Development Bank (ADB) was likely to finance such projects. The Chief Minister said he would examine the proposal in detail and then take a decision.Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM S Narsing Rao and Additional Secretary to CM Smita Sabharwal were present in the meeting.
